HRLF Lean HR & Small Cap Roundtable Meeting (VIRTUAL)
March 15, 2022
Vaccine Policy and Work From Home / Hybrid Working
Facilitated discussion
Over the past two years, we have experienced the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. We saw the global effects on all levels of life. In the business world, we had to make in-the-moment adjustments to provide service to our customers and safety to our organizations. With these changes, we have learned and evolved to working models that have leveraged innovation and technology as the driving force to remain competitive and forge forward to meet organizational objectives.
Much of the pandemic challenges have aligned around work practices and have required many organizations to build remote staff and teams. This new normal has required companies to provide employees with the technological and human support they need to be at their best during this time. As we move to a post-COVID environment, there are compelling needs for employee collaboration and innovation critical to business success and retention. Many company workforces have worked remotely for significant periods in the last two years. They now desire more flexibility in their working environment and schedule. Both employers and employees have now opened their minds to the concept and practice of hybrid work, as we see this phenomenon growing and expanding nationally and globally.
In a nutshell, a hybrid working policy allows employees to work from home or in the office on an optional schedule or a predetermined one. This arrangement may also eliminate the need for bigger office spaces but still requires working/office resources.
This session will review what companies have learned from COVID-19 began and the adjustments they have made to working environments, including how and where work is done. In addition, this session will provide details of Hybrid working models, the benefits of creating a hybrid working model, common challenges of hybrid working, employee engagement in hybrid models, best practices for working from home, policies and discussions, vaccination policies in hybrid working environments, and what organizations can do to continue making hybrid working an effective part of their business operations.
